Move your cards from Quizlet or Anki
Your cards are yours. Here is how to bring a Quizlet set or an Anki deck into Flash Feed on your iPhone.
From Quizlet
- Open the set on quizlet.com. Export is on the website, not in the Quizlet app.
- Open the ··· menu and choose Export.
- Keep the defaults (a tab between term and definition, a new line between cards) and choose Copy text.
- In Flash Feed, go to New › Paste cards, paste, and look at the first three cards in the preview. Then import.
Quizlet decides who sees Export. If a set has none, for example one copied from someone else, Flash Feed cannot get around that. Flash Feed never asks for your Quizlet login.
From Anki
- In Anki on your computer, choose File › Export.
- Choose Anki Deck Package (.apkg) and switch on Support older Anki versions. Flash Feed cannot read the newer format.
- Send the file to your iPhone with AirDrop, Mail or iCloud Drive.
- In Flash Feed, go to New › Import a file and choose it.
Prefer plain text? Choose Notes in Plain Text (.txt) instead and import that file the same way.
What comes across
- The first two fields of each note become the question and the answer.
- Cards arrive as new cards: review history and due dates stay behind.
- Pictures, sound and fill-in-the-blank (cloze) cards do not come across.
- Each file or paste becomes one deck in your library, ready to study like any other.
What it costs
Studying is always free. You can import or receive one deck a month for free; a subscription lifts that limit.
